  20. What is AmiTrack?  Hmm, good question.
  21.  
  22. I was talking to an AmiPhone user a while ago, and
  23. he was lamenting that it was hard to find another AmiPhone
  24. user who was online to talk to.  We decided what was needed
  25. was a way to find out who else is available, sort of an
  26. "Active Amiga registry".
  27.  
  28. So that's what AmiTrack does.  AmiTrack is an AmiTCP program
  29. that acts as the keeper of a list of Amigas that are currently
  30. on-line.  It isn't limited to just AmiPhone users, either; you
  31. can register your Amiga to advertise any message string you want.
  32.  
  33. This archive contains two executables: AmiTrack and AmiTrackServer.
  34. AmiTrack is a client that you can use to notify the world of your
  35. Amiga's presence on the internet, and AmiTrackServer is useful if
  36. you wish to let people use your Amiga as a registry site.  AmiTrackServer
  37. must be launched from the CLI, but AmiTrack may be launched from
  38. either the CLI or by clicking its icon.

  43. 1.41 : (Public Release 11/30/96)
  44.      - Added the CONNECT Arexx command.
  45.      * The Stupid bug that had AmiTrack choosing a connect program
  46.        based on the target's position in the ListView, rather than
  47.        the current selection in the CycleGadget is fixed.

  49. 1.40 : (Public Release 11/25/96)
  50.      - Added ARexx support to the AmiTrack client!  See the ARexx
  51.        section for details.
  52.      - Added the ARexx directory and some sample ARexx scripts.
  53.      - Added the TOP, LEFT, WIDTH, and HEIGHT startup arguments.
  54.      - The AmiTrackServer now displays the number of clients connected.
  55.      * The AmiTrackServer can now accept packets from hosts IPs that lack
  56.        associated hostnames.

  59.      - Added cool new icons, as given to me by Fredrik Rambris.
  60.      - Added the ACTION0, ACTION1, ..., ACTION20 startup arguments,

  64.      * Fixed a bug that caused AmiTrack to register with the
  65.        server on reconnect, even if it was marked "disabled".
  66.      * AmiTrack no longer exits when its window is closed.
  67.      * High-ASCII characters are now handled correctly.
  68.      * The "socket in use" bug in the AmitrackServer is fixed.

  74.        being closed and reopened.
  75.      * Oops, a stupid bug crept in that broke the automatic
  76.        pinging and updating.  Sorry about that!
  77.      * Changed key-shortcut for the "About" box to lcommand-?

  79. 1.2  : (Public Release 10/22/96)
  80.      - AmiTrack is now a commodity.
  81.      - All the startup arguments have been changed, and new ones have
  82.        been added.
  83.      - Removed the iconify feature--use "Hide" and Commodities instead.
  84.      - AmiTrack can now be started from the Workbench, and parses ToolTypes.
  85.      - AmiTrack no longer requires AmiTCP to be running when AmiTrack
  86.        is launched.  If AmiTrack is launched and AmiTCP is not running,
  87.        then AmiTrack will just wait around quietly until AmiTCP is started.
  88.        This allows AmiTrack to be placed in your WBStartup directory!
  89.      - Added the "Enable" item to the Project menu.
  90.      - Made isys.ml.org the default server
  91.      - Made absolutely no changes to the AmiTrackServer code.

  94.      - Added iconify-on-startup.

  97.      - Separated the AmiTrack server and client into two separate
  98.        programs, and integrated GetTrackList into the client.
  99.      - Added a nice GUI to the client program.
  100.      - The AmiTrack protocol has changed slightly--v1.1 is not quite
  101.        compatible with v1.0.  Sorry!  :(
